Saturday, November 15, 2008, 5:00 – 7:00 PM
Under Pressure from 2006 - 2007 is a forty page, full color collection of the artist’s mixed medium installations incorporating magazine/newspaper cut-outs, text, drawings, painting, and plexiglass (among others), which have become the artist’s signature style. Bound in a vertically over-sized publication, the full-bleed pages run together giving the reader the illusion of being lost in an endless and haunting world of the artist’s design.
Rita Ackermann was born in Budapest and lives and works in New York, where she has been showing her paintings since 1994 with Andrea Rosen Gallery in NY and Peter Kilchmann Gallery in Zurich.
Under Pressure from 2006 – 2007 is published by Nieves, an independent publishing house based in Zurich, Switzerland that was founded in 2001 to focus on publishing artist books and zines.
