Synopsis: This two-volume publication was conceived and designed by Mark Beasley in collaboration with Dexter Sinister to document the series of lectures, events and performances that occurred in May 2008 under the title Hey Hey Glossolalia. Organized by Creative Time, Hey Hey Glossolalia involved the participation of seventy singers, performers, and speakers who sought to provoke discussion and “let loose their voices.” Volume one is a reader of critical essays and a compendium of the artists’ projects, while the second volume contains transcribed documentary material from each of the six Hey Hey Glossolalia events.
