Susan Bee, Mira Schor, editors M/E/A/N/I/N/G. No. 14 (November 1993) New York, NY: M/E/A/N/I/N/G. 1993
Synopsis: M/E/A/N/I/N/G is an artist-run periodical that was published in New York between 1986- 1996. Its founders, Mira Shor and Susan Bee, established the journal as a forum to discuss issues in contemporary art for artists and writers who may have felt left out by the hype of the 1980's art market boom and bewildered by the obscurity of some theory language.
Features in this issue: "The Return of the Feminist Body" by Amelia Jones, "A Conversation on Lesbian Subjectivity and Painting with Deborah Kass" by Patricia Cronin, "Aesthetic and Postmenopausal Pleaures" by Joanna Frueh, "Muse Begets Crone" by Whitney Chadwick, "just a sketch..." by Laura Cottingham, "We Need a New History" by Jack and Sheila Butler, and reviews by Mira Schor, Rovert C. Morgan, and Joseph Nechvatal.
